Used to be known as British North Borneo, Sabah is situated in the Northen tip of Borneo island. A destination gifted with the splendor of nature, awaited to be explored.

From the majestic Mt Kinabalu to million-year-old rainforest, to offshore islands lined with white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, to extraordinary flora and fauna, Borneo never fails to surprise its visitors.

Kota Kinabalu, the capital city, is the first touchdown point for most international visitors. Known as Jesselton during the time of British North Borneo Company, Kota Kinabalu today has a population of 300,000.

A number of attractions and pursuits are available within easy reach of Kota Kinabalu. Amongst them are the five nature islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park located so near and "yet so far". The must-see Kinabalu Park with its' botanical treasures, and Mt Kinabalu, the highest peak in South East Asia. The small-town markets (Tamu) where local indigenous people congregate, Bajau fishing villages, and the train service that runs on the only railway line on Borneo island.

Located on the east Coast of Sabah, the town of Sandakan is the perfect launch pad for exploration of Borneo's wildlife.

The not-to-be missed activities include a visit to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, a river cruise in the Kinabatangan wildlife sanctuary to observe proboscis monkeys, a walk in Gomantong Caves where the edible bird's nest (a Chinese delicacy) are collected, and the watching of nesting sea-turtles at night in Selingan island.
